Yash Solankhi

Yash is a Junior majoring in Biology. He joined ISU In Fall 2016 and has been involved with the ISA since his first semester, first as a performer and emcee, then as the Events Coordinator last year, and is now excited to serve as the President. He was born in Philadelphia but moved to Pune, India in 2006 and has been living there since. He’s been a student of Indian Classical Music for the past 11 years, currently works as a Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Dept. of Animal Science, and serves as an Events Coordinator for Sankalp. He’s also a better twin than Neel. In his free time he likes drinking coffee, making bad puns and listening to music.

Ahilan is currently a Graduate student in Aerospace Engineering. Born in Tamil Nadu, India. He completed his Bachelors in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Neel Solanki

Neel is a Sophomore in the department of Horticulture, at ISU. He was born in Philadelphia, PN and had been living in Pune, India for the past 10 years. Apart from being a plant enthusiast, Neel is a trained classical vocalist and Sitar player. He is also the twin brother of Yash Solanki.

Aishwarya Sriraman

Aishwarya is a Ph.D. student in Materials Science and Engineering and a workaholic with a sincere passion to organize everything around her. Born in Bangalore and raised across 3 countries, she loves travelling and has a flair for languages. Aishwarya is a trained Carnatic music vocalist and performs with Punk Punditz, the Indian fusion band on campus. On another artistic vein, she enjoys dancing, and currently serves as the treasurer of the Bollywood Dance Club. This is her second year serving as an officer for ISA, and she looks forward to another exciting term!

Jyothsna Ramesh Kumar

A graduate student in the Immunobiology program, Jyothsna is bubbly, enthusiastic and enjoys being around people. She was raised in Bangalore and has an immense liking for travel, languages, novels and a good filter coffee. She is also currently the vice president of Sankalp.

A researcher studying mosquitoes, she is at her happiest pursuing her passion for dance and music or shooting hoops. Being a trained classical vocalist and dancer, she serves as the President of the Bollywood Dance Club and belts out bassy tunes with the Punk Punditz.

Jyothsna is excited to be a part of ISA and looks forward to meeting new people this term!

Hridyesh Mangalath

Hridyesh “Ridesh” Mangalath is a Masters student majoring in Aerospace Engineering. Originally from Kerala, he was born and raised in Dubai, UAE.
He is an avid gamer and an anime lover too. He's a Barça fan and does come out to play football when not feeling too lazy. Also plays guitar when he feels like it. He's seriously into coffee. Place a cup of coffee somewhere and poof...you know who drank it. He loves engaging in casual activities and meeting new people. Now in case you’re wondering what those activities are, well that would be meeting up with friends over coffee.

Benjamin Suthakar

Benjamin (aka ‘Benji’) is a sophomore in Industrial Engineering. He was born and raised in Abu Dhabi but has his roots in Tamil Nadu. He is trained musician and plays both the piano and the guitar. Music means the world to him and he loves listening to all sorts of genres. Apart from that, he also loves travelling and exploring places.
